Gifts Of Hope Unlimited collaborates with Town social workers
and Voices Against Violence to help transition survivors of
relationship violence. We provide a safety net to fill the gaps
after other agencies have exhausted their resources.
We provide household goods and emergency financial help
with rent, moving, groceries, prescriptions and the basics to get established.
Most of our clients are transitioning from shelters to homes.
Financial independence is paramount in helping
victims of domestic violence reclaim their lives.
Usually the abusive partner has full control
of the family assets, leaving the victim with little
or no access to money. Victims are overwhelmed
just struggling to manage their lives, the safety and
welfare of their children, the basics of a new home
and keeping or finding a job.
I just received your voicemail about the board’s decision to pay a
month’s mortgage for a client. When I called to let her know, she
laughed and cried tears of joy and shouted that she could not believe this.
She shared with me that a month ago she was not sure if it would ever be
possible to get her head above water. Today she exclaimed that she
finally feels like it may be possible to regain her financial stability.
You very literally gave her the gift of hope.
You are all absolutely amazing, and I will never fully be able
to express my appreciation for all that you do!
