1. Warehouse Stocking
Tasks:
- Sorting clothing and household goods
- Folding clothing into bins for appropriate ages and genders
- Shelving household goods
Time Commitment: Needed about once every 2 weeks for 1-2 hours
- Times and days of the week modified to your schedule as much as possible
- Will work with at least one other experienced volunteer
2. Warehouse Client Assistance
Task: Assist clients select and collect goods from warehouse
Time Commitment: Varies, usually 2 hours per client/family Schedule determined by needs of both clients and volunteers
- Strong people skills desirable
- Knowledge of domestic violence/trauma preferred. (Training provided).
- Clients must make appointment with warehouse managers
- Managers are always on site with clients and volunteers for assistance
3. Donation Collection/Delivery
Task: Pick up and deliver donations from 5 Hop Brook Lane, Sudbury to our warehouse at 531 Main Street, Acton
Time Commitment: No set schedule, pick up and drop off is mainly on demand
- Donations can also be directly dropped off at 531 Main Street, Acton, by appointment when warehouse is staffed
- Donations may be heavy so some strength desired
4. Client Delivery
Task: Deliver warehouse goods to clients
Time Commitment: Varies, based on demand
- CORI check may be needed for direct client delivery
- Volunteer may need to use own phone for client contact or set up a specific Trac phone for communication
- Client anonymity required
- Some deliveries may be done with no contact with the client if volunteers prefer
